Week 1 Preview: Women's Volleyball

The Fall season is upon us and with it comes the great sport of Volleyball.  The only changes that are going on this year is the re-welcoming of Hawaii and coach Dave Shoji back into the Big West.  The conference also re-welcomes first-time head coach Sam Crosson.  My reason for saying "re-welcomes" is because Crosson was a four-year player at Pacific, where he ranks in the top ten in every statistical category.  After spending time as an assistant at Saint Mary's and Cal, he now takes the reigns of the Lady Mustangs.

Ranked No. 8 in the nation by the AVCA Poll, Hawaii got a near unanimous preseason conference poll.  Long Beach came in second (and also received 66 votes for the top 25 poll, effectively putting them in 26th).  As the average reader should know, rankings are earned, and Big West teams this weekend face four top-25 ranked teams.  Below is the schedule with ways to follow along live:
