UCI may have finished fourth in the Commissioners Cup, but that didn't stop Charles Jock from bringing home an individual National Championship for the Anteaters. Jock won the 800m to the time of 1:45:59 as he earned UCI a National Title (the first one in 34 years). He ends his collegiate career as a 3-time All-American and 3-time BWC Track Athlete of the Year. Personally, I would pencil him down as an Olympian too, but that's my bias.
Right behind him in the 800m was UCSB's Ryan Martin, who finished fourth and also moves on to the U.S. Olympic trials. The Jock-Martin combo have dominated much of the season, and it's no surprise to see them rack up First Team All-American honors.
UCSB's Barbara Nwaba placed second overall in the women's heptathlon competition to earn herself a First Team All-American honor and a chance to compete for the country at the Olympic trials. She scored a total of 5,927 points in the Championships, finishing 513 points behind the first place Brianne Theisen of Oregon.
Finally, UCD's Ashley Hearn finished third in the Discus Throw setting a school record of 190 feet, 1 inch. She will be joining Jock, Martin and Nwaba as a First Team All-American and will also have the opportunity to earn her way to the Olympic team next week.
