Big West Confidential's Official Whiteboard Congratulations |
What do you want from us? Money? A large trophy? This is a simple blog, and the Photoshopping skills that I possess are less than desirable.
Long Beach State has won their second straight Commissioner's Cup in a completely dominating fashion. So here's how the scoring works: 9 teams, 20 points per place, championship team gets an extra 20 points (so in theory 200, 160, 140 etc... although there might be a clause with some scoring splits, like a tie between two teams for fourth would get 110 points, instead of 120 and 100).
The 49ers only compete in 14 of the 16 championships counted toward the Cup. Pointing out how dominant they were, let's look at the numbers. They had 1960 total points, 110 points greater than UCD (who competes in all 16 championships by the way), and averaged 24.4 points greater than the Aggies. Even if they had come in last place in both of those events, they would have still averaged 125 points and still won by a little under 10 points. That my friends, is dominance. So I raise my glass to you Long Beach State, and wish you the best of luck for the next year.
